Travellers to Oman are quickly fascinated by the diversity of the country.
The landscapes of the Sultanate of Oman are very different and surprisingly diverse: deep fjords in Musandam, geological diversity in the Hadjar Mountains, the endless sand dunes of the Rub al-Khali, the tropical green Dhofar in summer, the plantations of the Batinah Coast, the modern capital Muscat.
Oman's nature is rich in a wide variety of animals and plants, even though a lack of water affects all life in the country. The geological diversity also deserves special attention.
Also worth seeing are the testimonies to the turbulent history of Sindbad's sons and the cultural achievements of the young state. Some archaeological sites date back to 3000 BC. Some of them are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
