Strolling in Al Mouj (The Wave)

North of the airport, the new development Al Mouj (The Wave) with its marina harbour is being built. With its expensive flats, hotels and boutiques, it forms a stark contrast to the alleys of the old souqs. When strolling in the evening in the pedestrian zone "The Walk" with its restaurants, cafes and boutiques, one is amazed at the stage-ready elegance with which the Omani ladies float across the promenade in flowing gowns and high heels matching the modern ambience. Children use the smooth ground for inline skating or scootering. In Al Mouj you can (of course) also play golf and anchor your yacht, because this is clearly where "rich" and "beautiful" meet. Excursion boats, sailing and diving centres can be found at the marina.

If you think about the souq of Seeb, only a few kilometres away, the development of Oman over the last 40 years becomes very clear. Nevertheless, there are no skyscrapers, even though Emirati investors have contributed significantly to the development of the district. There is a public beach, which is mainly used by expats, as well as numerous hotels in the meantime.
